Sanjay Dutt revisits Lage Raho Munna Bhai. says his values continues to inspire generations

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt marked Gandhi Jayanti with a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Friday, taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane by sharing some of the most memorable moments from his much-loved film 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'.
The film basically conveys Gandhian principles such as non-violence and truth through a contemporary and humorous lens. It remains closely associated with the idea of ‘Gandhigiri’ in popular culture.
Marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Dutt revisited some of the film’s iconic moments through the video snippets.
“Some values never go out of time. Remembering Mahatma Gandhiji and the ideals of truth, peace and compassion that continues to inspire generations. Happy Gandhi Jayanti,” the actor wrote on Instagram post.
The 2006 film, which is a sequel to Munnabhai MBBS, follows the character Munna Bhai, played by Sanjay Dutt, who begins encountering the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi. Inspired by Gandhi’s teachings, Munna adopts the principles of truth, non-violence and compassion, promoting the concept of ‘Gandhigiri’. This personal transformation also influences those around him, as the film combines humour, emotions and social commentary to depict Gandhian values in modern setting.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869, in Gujrat’s Porbandar city. He led India’s independence movement through campaigns such as the Salt Satyagraha and Quit India Movement. Gandhi Jayanti is observed annually on his birth anniversary.
