Southwest Monsoon likely to advance further over central, east India from June 14

Pune, June 11 (UNI) Conditions are likely to be favourable for further advancement of Southwest monsoon over some more parts of central and adjoining east India around June 14.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal ( > 5.1°C) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya and Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at most places over Arunachal Pradesh and Punjab; at a few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Bihar and Uttarakhand; at a few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala and Mahe; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Lakshadweep; at isolated places over Jharkhand, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra
