Chitra Wagh hits out at Oppn, says EC voter verification drive removes ‘Last Issue’ for protest

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) BJP leader and MLA Chitra Wagh on Sunday criticised the Opposition over its protest against the Election Commission, claiming that the poll panel’s decision to send Booth Level Officers (BLOs) door-to-door to verify and restore names of voters deleted from electoral rolls had removed the Opposition’s “last issue”.
Wagh said the special drive announced by the Election Commission demonstrated transparency and was being undertaken by the same Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, whom Opposition parties had accused of acting against their interests.
What issue is left with the Opposition for holding a protest? Wagh asked, pointing out that Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties had won 30 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
