Vijay Wadettiwar slams Modi Govt over delimitation

Nagpur, Oct 17 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Saturday accused the Centre of avoiding consultations on the proposed delimitation exercise, alleging that the Narendra Modi government was unwilling to discuss the issue with Opposition parties.
Wadettiwar’s comments followed Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge’s latest communication to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to convene an all-party meeting before finalising delimitation proposals and placing them before Parliament.
Emphasising the need for wider consultations on matters of national significance, Wadettiwar said the government should engage both the ruling coalition and the Opposition, regardless of the latter’s numerical strength.
