Odisha: Former Kamakhyanagar MLA Prasanna Patanayak dead

Bhubaneswar, May 30 (UNI) Former Kamakhyanagar MLA Prasanna Patanayak died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Friday morning.
He was 74 and suffering from prolonged illness. Patanayak was hospitalised on Thursday after his condition worsened, sources said.
Patanayak was elected to the state Assembly thrice in 1977, 1985 and 1990.
He was elected to the Assembly from Kamakhyanagar on a Janata Party ticket in 1977 and was elected to the state Assembly in 1985 on BJP ticket and in 1990 on Janata Dal ticket.
He returned to the BJP in 2014.
His last rites will take place at Swargadwar in Puri.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo, several ministers and Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhi condoled the demise of the former BJP MLA. UNI BD SSP
