Samrat Choudhary pays tribute to freedom fighters on Azad Hind Fauj foundation day

Patna, Oct 21 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday paid tributes to the brave soldiers of the Azad Hind Fauj on its foundation day, recalling their courage, sacrifice and dedication to the cause of India’s independence.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Choudhary said the indomitable courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the soldiers would continue to inspire the nation to serve the country and uphold its honour.
The Azad Hind Fauj, also known as the Indian National Army (INA), was initially formed in 1942 during World War II under the leadership of Captain Mohan Singh. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose subsequently assumed its leadership in 1943 and reorganised the force with the objective of liberating India from British rule.
Bose gave the call for “Delhi Chalo” to inspire the soldiers in their struggle for independence. On October 21, 1943, he proclaimed the establishment of the Provisional Government of Free India in Singapore.
The Azad Hind Fauj’s struggle and the sacrifices made by its soldiers remain an important chapter in the history of India’s freedom movement, Choudhary added.
