Shiv Sena (UBT) leader threatens Rahul Gandhi over Savarkar remarks

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) group leader Bala Darade on Wednesday threatened to "blacken" Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rshul Gandhi's face and "throw stones" at his convoy for "repeatedly insulting" Swatantryaveer Savarkar.

Expressing his anger over Gandhi and other Congress leaders for, what he called, "repeatedly insulting" Savarkar, Darade said the former Congress chief had even called Savarkar a 'forgiveness hero'.

"If Swatantryaveer Savarkar is insulted again by Gandhi, we will not look at politics or anything. In our view, the issues of Savarkar and Hindutva come first... If Gandhi comes to Nashik, we will blacken his face and throw stones at his convoy," he said.

Reacting to Darade's statement, Congress leader Yashomati said "We are a peaceful group. We are following the path of non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi. But, now it is Kal Yug, we can also behave like (people of) Kalyug".

She further said that Rahul Gandhi has not said anything wrong. "If he is repeating what is written in history, what is wrong in it? History cannot be changed."

She said the Gandhi family has been the victim of terrorism. "If you say anything to Gandhi, no one will tolerate it," she said. UNI SP SSP
