Telangana: 31 UoH researchers feature in World’s top 2 pc scientists list

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) As many as 31 researchers from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have featured in the 2026 Stanford–Elsevier database of highly cited researchers, widely known as the “world’s top 2 per cent scientists” list, highlighting the university’s research contributions across science, technology and humanities.
According to the university release on Sunday, UoH ranked third among Central Universities, after Banaras Hindu University and the University of Delhi, and 18th among India's top 20 institutions in the institutional tally.
Of the 31 researchers, 25 featured in the career-long impact list, while 18 appeared in the single-year list based on citations received during 2025. Twelve researchers featured in both lists.
The researchers represent five schools and two centres, with the School of Chemistry and School of Life Sciences accounting for nine researchers each, followed by Computer and Information Sciences (four), Physics (three), Humanities (two), the Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (two) and the Advanced Centre of Research in High Energy Materials (two).
The database, developed through work involving Stanford University and Elsevier, uses standardised citation indicators based on Scopus records to assess researchers' academic impact across 20 broad fields and 174 subfields.
