Telangana: Alleti slams Congress govt for failing to deliver on poll promises

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of ignoring key public issues and failing to act on its pre-poll promises.
Addressing the media at the BJP state office on Monday, Maheshwar Reddy expressed doubts over the outcome of the latest state cabinet meeting, stating that such meetings have been “repeatedly unproductive.”
He questioned the delay in implementing the six guarantees promised in the Congress manifesto and alleged that schemes like Mahalakshmi, Rythu Bharosa, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, and Kalyana Lakshmi have either stalled or remained unfulfilled. He also criticized the government for not providing clarity on 42 per cent BC reservation, despite passing a law in the Assembly in March.
"The Congress has betrayed the people of Telangana. The state is reeling under misgovernance, corruption, and inaction," Reddy said, demanding that the government immediately issue a gazette notification on BC reservations and implement the six guarantees in full.
He further accused the Congress of having a “dark pact” with BRS, citing the lack of action on alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram project and other major initiatives like Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya. He questioned the delay in releasing the Justice Lokur Commission report and the absence of CBI inquiries into major scandals.
On the economic front, the BJP leader alleged discrimination in payment of dues to contractors, neglect of sarpanches, and crisis in the education sector due to non-payment of fee reimbursement.
"The Congress government has failed to provide clarity, accountability, or stability in governance. The BJP demands immediate action on all these issues in the cabinet meeting," he asserted.
