UP CM Yogi holds round table meeting with representatives of partner countries

Greater Noida, Sept 25 (UNI) After inauguration of Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday held a round table meeting with representatives of partner countries and discussed investment and business opportunities in Uttar Pradesh in detail.
Along with representatives from partner countries Singapore, Vietnam, Russia, Belarus, Japan and Austria, Chief Minister shared state industrial capabilities, investment opportunities and potential across various sectors.
Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh is not only the largest state in country but also a large market with young human resources, fertile land and adequate water resources. Therefore, there are vast opportunities for companies from partner countries to invest and expand their businesses in the state.
During discussions with Vietnamese delegation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that there are significant investment opportunities for Vietnamese companies in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister invited Vietnamese companies to invest in the Yamuna Expressway Authority region. He stated that Uttar Pradesh has succeeded in operationalising country's largest airport and expressed hope that international flight operations would commence from there soon.
Chief Minister proposed that launch of direct air connectivity from Lucknow, Varanasi and Noida to Hanoi and other major cities in Vietnam would promote tourism along with strengthening trade relations between two countries. Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese delegation for participating in Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show as a Partner Country.
During the round table meeting with the Russian delegation, Chief Minister congratulated Business Commissioner of Russian Federation for participating in Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show as a Partner Country.
He stated that Uttar Pradesh Government agrees with suggestions and issues highlighted by Russia and that efforts can be made to further strengthen economic cooperation between two countries.
Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh is largest state in the country with a population of nearly 25 crore. India Defence Manufacturing Corridor is being developed in state. Russian companies are already establishing their units in Uttar Pradesh. A BrahMos manufacturing unit has already been established in Lucknow node.
Chief Minister also invited Russian defence companies to establish their units in Kanpur. He noted that AK-203 rifle is also being manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that this is an example of opportunities available to Russian companies in the state and that they should take advantage of these opportunities.
Chief Minister also identified pharma and medical device sectors as important opportunities for Russia. He stated that a Medical Device Park is being developed near Noida Airport, where Russian investors can invest and establish their research and development centres. A Pharma Park is also being developed in Bundelkhand region. Russian companies were also invited to invest in research and development activities at Bulk Drug Park being developed in Lalitpur.
Chief Minister stated that agriculture and fertiliser supply chains could also be important sectors for Russian companies. Describing Uttar Pradesh as India's food basket, he noted that state possesses vast fertile land and adequate water resources. There are extensive opportunities for cooperation between both sides in agriculture-based industries and fertiliser supply chains.
He further stated that Uttar Pradesh is a major MSME hub in country. Platforms can be developed in state to advance economic and trade dialogue with countries associated with Eurasian Economic Union. Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show is an important platform in this direction, providing various countries with an opportunity to understand and assess Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and export potential.
During meeting with Belarusian delegation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed their participation in Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show. He stated that, continuing initiative launched four years ago, Belarus has once again received an opportunity through its pavilion to understand Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and manufacturing capabilities.
Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh offers extensive investment opportunities for Belarus. The state's large population, fertile land and adequate water resources make it an important destination for agriculture and agriculture-based industries. He invited Belarusian advanced and heavy machinery companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh. He particularly proposed that Belarusian tractor companies establish assembly units in state.
Chief Minister also acquainted Belarusian representatives with strengths of Uttar Pradesh’s One District One Product (ODOP) programme. He stated that excellent work is being done in processing of wood and wood-based products in districts such as Saharanpur and Bijnor. If Belarus’s modern wood technology is linked with these clusters in Uttar Pradesh, it can help secure a stronger global identity for these products.
Chief Minister stated that nearly 56 percent of Uttar Pradesh’s population is young. State government is continuously working on education, skill development and technical training for youth. Uttar Pradesh has a strong network of IT and technical institutions. Therefore, Belarusian companies can establish technical institutions related to heavy technology in state and support training of youth in line with modern technological requirements.
Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh and Belarus can jointly advance these opportunities. Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show is emerging as an effective platform for opening new avenues of trade, technology and investment between the two sides.
Chief Minister held discussions with Japan’s Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, and JETRO India Chief Director General Daisaku Yukita. meeting focused on further strengthening Uttar Pradesh-Japan cooperation in the fields of economic development, cultural exchange and investment promotion. Discussions were also held on deepening ties between Sarnath and Nara Prefecture, symbols of the shared Buddhist heritage of India and Japan.
Chief Minister also interacted with the Singapore delegation led by Singapore High Commissioner to India Simon Wong Wie Kuen, along with leading investors. Delegation appreciated efforts being made by Uttar Pradesh Government and Invest UP to strengthen Uttar Pradesh-Singapore economic and investment relations.
The meeting also discussed the progress of proposed Singapore City project. Singapore Government expressed strong interest in advancing this important project and further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Following round table meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also participated in a group photograph session with representatives of various partner countries. Participation of multiple countries in Trade Show is being viewed as an important initiative towards expanding Uttar Pradesh’s global trade and industrial outreach. UNI MBD CDS
