Varsha Gaikwad slams Mahayuti government over police action at Congress Office

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Mumbai Congress president and MP Prof. Varsha Gaikwad on Monday criticised the Maharashtra government over the alleged police action at the Mumbai Congress headquarters, Tilak Bhavan, and the detention of tribal student protesters, accusing the administration of suppressing peaceful demonstrations.
Gaikwad has accused the Mahayuti government of running a “police state” and treating peaceful tribal student protesters like hardened criminals.
Gaikwad’s remarks followed an alleged midnight police operation at the Congress office, where party leaders claimed that police personnel entered the premises without a search warrant at around 4 am and detained protesting students.
