'RRU has taken the lead in developing a capacity building platform for special training, knowledge on financial & economic security'

Mumbai/ New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) Financial security and economic integrity are increasingly important in an interconnected global economy, as the rapid evolution of financial technologies, digital assets and cross-border economic activities have also created new avenues for financial crime and economic disruption.
The situation calls for a need to build a specialised cadre of professionals capable of understanding, preventing and responding to emerging financial and economic crimes, thereby strengthening India’s economic resilience and contributing to international peace, stability and security.
Speaking at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Mumbai, Sunil Kavishwar, Director, School of Criminal Law and Military Law, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), highlighted the growing importance of safeguarding the integrity and resilience of financial systems.
He noted that financial crimes are continuously evolving, moving beyond traditional forms into emerging areas such as virtual digital assets, terror financing, proliferation financing, and technology-enabled frauds.
The increasing use of sophisticated technologies by criminal networks has further created new challenges for enforcement, regulatory and financial institutions, he added.
Kavishwar highlighted that RRU has taken the lead in developing a global platform for capacity building, specialised training and knowledge exchange in the emerging field of financial and economic security.
The University is working towards bringing together professionals, experts and institutions from across relevant domains to strengthen specialised understanding and practical capabilities in this area.
He further highlighted that the Masters in Financial and Economic Security (MFES) program by the RRU, brings together not only academicians but also experienced practitioners and working professionals who bring direct expertise from the field and will contribute to the program as faculty and resource persons.
Harshit Singh, teaching cum research officer at the RRU spoke about the importance of developing a specialised professional cadre equipped to address emerging financial and economic security challenges, adding that such people can contribute to strengthening India’s economic resilience, supporting sustainable national growth and enhancing the country’s contribution to global financial security and stability.
Singh said that the program also aligns with the broader vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat at 2047, by contributing to the development of skilled professionals capable of protecting financial systems, and strengthening institutional capacity.
In line with this, RRU (MHA), with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is set to launch the second batch of its MFES program in November, after the success of its first cohort, which comprised more than 40 professionals, coming from different fields.
