BJD slams Ruling BJP Government for deteriorating Law and Order in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 31 (UNI) The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has expressed grave concerns over what it alleged was the deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha, accusing the ruling BJP government of allowing criminals to operate with impunity under the protection of BJP leaders.
Addressing the media, BJD spokesman Dr. Lenin Mohanty raised alarm over the increasing crime rate in the state and the failure of law enforcement agencies. He said recent incidents across Odisha, particularly in cities such as Bhubaneswar, Kabisuryanagar, Korei, and Purusottampur, have exposed serious lapses in the state’s policing system.
Mohanty alleged that BJP leaders are influencing the police, enabling criminals to go unpunished and thereby emboldening them to defy the law openly. He specifically highlighted that law enforcement authorities are failing to take action against criminals who, under political protection, continue to spread fear across various districts.
