Bhubaneswar, Apr 1 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday urged the people to work with determination to achieve the great goal of a prosperous Odisha.
"Our foundation for building a prosperous Odisha will be based on identity, ambition, and tireless effort," Majhi said while addressing a state-level Odisha Day program in Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, the modern architect of Odisha.
The Chief Minister noted that today marks the 90th anniversary of the formation of Odisha as a separate state, 89 years after the initial formation efforts. One of the primary objectives of the Utkal Conference was to ensure the all-round development of a strong Odisha.
However, he lamented that even after 77 years of independence, Odisha has not been able to fully utilize its potential or achieve significant progress in the development of its people.
Majhi affirmed that the aspirations of Odisha’s 4.5 crore people will certainly be fulfilled. "By 2036, we will mark 100 years since Odisha became a separate state, and we will lay a strong foundation for a prosperous Odisha," he stated.
Looking ahead, he envisioned that by 2047, Odisha will become a growth engine of a developed India. "Every pillar of a prosperous Odisha will be built by its people, and once again, the people of Odisha will write their glorious history," he added.
The Chief Minister emphasized the three key strengths needed to build a prosperous Odisha: identity, ambition, and tireless effort.
He stressed that without a strong identity, there is no inspiration to progress. "To achieve greatness, we must first raise our hopes and aspirations. Without dreaming big, we cannot become great. Therefore, we have resolved to make Odisha a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047."
Finally, Majhi highlighted the importance of relentless effort. "To achieve this ambitious goal, we will utilize every moment and every opportunity for the development of Odisha and the protection of its interests," he concluded.
