MPSC exam to be conducted on lines of UPSC from this year: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said in the Legislative Council that, from the year 2025, Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination will be conducted in descriptive format as per Union Public Service Commission examination pattern.
The complete schedule of these competitive exams and interviews will be prepared and conducted accordingly, he said while replying to a question raised by members Shivajirao Garje, Praveen Darekar and Vikram Kale in this regard in the upper house.
The Chief Minister further said that MPSC had recommended 617 candidates to the government through a letter dated November 12, 2024. Of them, appointment orders were given to 540 candidates, who appeared for document verification.
Candidates from Maharashtra will appear for MPSC along with UPSC. As the pattern of both the exams is different, it is now being made uniform, he said.
At the same time, the process of approving new posts through revised scheme is underway to make MPSC more powerful, Fadnavis further said.
The Commission will be restructured to speed up the recruitment of Class I, II and III posts, he added.
