Budget of Rs 3,16,895.02 crore for 2025-26 presented  in Bihar

Patna, Mar 3 (UNI) Budget of Rs 3,16,895 crores of Bihar for fiscal 2025-26 was presented in the state assembly with a focus on Education and Health sectors getting an allocation of Rs 60,964.87 crore and Rs 20,035.80 crore respectively.
Budget of fiscal 2025-26 is Rs 38,169.30 crores more than Rs 2,78,725.72 crores for the fiscal 2024-25 budget estimate.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary who is also the Finance Minister presented the budget of Rs 3,16,896.02 crores of the state for fiscal year 2025-26, having largest allocation of Rs 60,964.87 crores for the Education sector while Rs 20,035.80 crores for Health sector.
Allocation of Education sector was 19.24 percent of the total budget while it was 6.32 percent in Health sector, he added.
" Under scheme outlay, Education department has been allocated 22,700.35 crore which is 19.44 percent of total scheme outlay while Rural Development Department has been given 15,586.43 crore having 13.35 percentage share in total scheme outlay ", the Minister said adding that Education, Health and Rural Development were the core sectors where government would make huge expenses.
Establishment and Committed expenditure for the financial year 2025-26 would be Rs 2,00,135.42 crore which was Rs 21,429.33 crore more than Rs 1,78,706.09 crore for the year 2024-25 budget estimate, he added.
" Annual scheme outlay for the financial year 2025-26 is estimated to be Rs 1,16,750 crore ", he said. Under seven Nischal 2 of Atmanirbhar Bihar for the duration 2020-25, Rs 5,972.00 crore budget was estimated in various departments for the financial year 2025-26, he added.
" Revenue expenditure for the financial year 2025-26 is estimated at 2,52,000.26 crore which is Rs 26,323.27 crore more than Rs 2,25,676.99 crore for the year 2024-25 budget estimate ", Minister said adding that the state would have revenue surplus of Rs 8,831.18 crore during 2025-26 which is 0.80 percent of GSDP. GSDP estimate for fiscal 2025-26 was Rs 10,97,264 crore for the fiscal 2025-26, he further added.
