MoS Defence flags off NIMAS' historic Mt Kangchenjunga Expedition 2025

Itanagar, Mar 27 (UNI) In a proud moment for India’s adventure and mountaineering community, the Mt Kangchenjunga Expedition 2025 by Team NIMAS was flagged off by Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth in New Delhi.
This ambitious expedition marks a historic milestone, as the Team NIMAS embarks on the challenge of hoisting the tri-colour on India’s highest peak (8,586m), making it the true culmination of the ‘Har Shikhar Tiranga’ initiative.
The expedition is being led by NIMAS Director Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal, a highly decorated mountaineer and adventurer with over 70 major expeditions including three successful Mt Everest summits to his credit. He is one of India’s most accomplished climbers, bringing unparalleled expertise and leadership to this mission.
