Odisha approves ten major industrial projects worth Rs 1,65,303 Cr

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28 (UNI The Odisha government has approved ten major industrial projects worth Rs.1,65,303 crore at the 40th High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The projects, approved on Thursday, span key sectors including steel, aluminium, power generation, green hydrogen, engineering goods, and green energy equipment.
According to official sources, these industrial projects are expected to generate over 51,939 jobs, playing a crucial role in bolstering Odisha’s industrial growth and economic development.
The projects are strategically distributed across seven key districts: Bhadrak, Cuttack, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, and Rayagada.
With these initiatives, Odisha is entering a new era of industrial growth, reinforcing its position as a premier investment destination.
In the Aluminium Sector,Vedanta Ltd. will establish two projects in Rayagada district, a 6 MTPA alumina refinery with an investment of Rs.50,537 crore, generating 8,700 employment opportunities and a greenfield 1.2 MTPA aluminium smelter with an investment of Rs.40,991 crore, creating 7,200 jobs.
In the Steel Sector, JSW Steel Limited, one of India’s leading steel producers, will set up a 5 MTPA integrated steel plant along with upstream and downstream facilities in Keonjhar, investing Rs.35,000 crore and generating 8,000 jobs.
Shyam Steel Works Private Limited will establish a 1.5 MTPA integrated steel plant, including upstream and downstream facilities, with an investment of Rs.5,200 crore in Bhadrak.
The OCL Iron and Steel Limited will expand its steel production by investing Rs.3,000 crore to set up a 1.2 MTPA integrated steel plant in Keonjhar.
Orissa Thermal Energy Limited will set up a 2,400 MW (3 x 800 MW) ultra-supercritical coal-based thermal power plant in the power sector in Cuttack. This project will attract an investment of Rs.18,450 crore and provide employment to 8,100 people.
TheOrissa Metallurgical Industry Private Limited will invest Rs8,000 crore in Rare Earth Minerals Sector in Ganjam to develop a Titanium Complex for producing titanium slag, titanium pigment, and titanium sponge.
Shreetech Data Limited will set up a green hydrogen project with an investment of Rs. 1,560 crore in the Rasgovindpur block of Mayurbhanj district in the Green Hydrogen Sector
Similarly ,in the Green Energy Equipment Sector,World Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. will establish a manufacturing facility for solar modules (1.2 GW) and solar photovoltaic cells (4 GW) in Gopalpur, with an investment of Rs.1,475 crore.
The Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited will expand its rail wheelset manufacturing plant in Khurda with an investment of Rs.1,090 crore in the Engineering Goods Sector
According to official sources, these projects will pave the way for unprecedented economic expansion, driving Odisha toward a future of innovation, sustainability, and industrial excellence.
