Congress mobilises Haryana unit for Nov 1 mega rally, Venugopal calls for massive participation

New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) Congress has stepped up its mobilisation drive in Haryana ahead of its November 1 mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, with AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal on Friday calling on state leaders to ensure massive participation and intensify public outreach.
Venugopal chaired a meeting of Haryana Congress leaders and functionaries at the AICC headquarters, Indira Bhavan, to review preparations and formulate a strategy for the rally.
He urged leaders and workers to mobilise people from all sections of society and ensure strong participation from across the state.
He congratulated Haryana Congress leaders and workers for their participation in the October 12 protest march in Delhi and stressed the need to carry the party’s ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ campaign to every section of society.
The Congress has alleged electoral manipulation in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections and claimed that irregularities undermined the people’s mandate.
The party has demanded accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over these allegations.
In their opening remarks, AICC Haryana in-charge Sanjay Dutt and Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Rao Narender Singh highlighted the response to the ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ protest marches organised across blocks in Haryana.
They said the campaign had helped strengthen the party’s mobilisation against the BJP government and reinforced its demand for electoral transparency and accountability.
Leaders and functionaries attending the meeting assured Venugopal and Dutt of their full cooperation in making the November 1 rally a success.
They resolved to mobilise party workers and supporters across Haryana for the event.
Those present included Randeep Singh Surjewala, Deepender Singh Hooda and other senior Congress leaders, along with party functionaries, MPs, MLAs, district Congress presidents and representatives of various organisational wings.
Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda could not attend the meeting due to ill health.
After the meeting, Dutt and Rao Narender Singh visited his Delhi residence to enquire about his health and discuss preparations for the rally.
The rally at Ramlila Maidan is expected to be a key event in the Congress’s ongoing ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ campaign, with the party seeking to turn its allegations of electoral irregularities into a broader public mobilisation for electoral accountability.
