Maha: Guv's eco-friendly Ganesh idol immersed in artificial tank at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 18 (UNI) The eco-friendly Ganesh idol installed at the residence of Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma was immersed in an artificial water tank at Lok Bhavan, here today on fifth day of immersion.
As the Governor was accompanying the Vice President of India on his visit to Pune, officers and staff of Lok Bhavan performed the aarti of Lord Ganesha and bid farewell to the Lord of Wisdom. The idol was subsequently immersed in a specially decorated artificial water tank placed in front of the Governor’s residence.
The Ganesh idol installed for five days at the Governor’s residence was made of eco-friendly shadu clay. At the Governor’s instance, a neem sapling will be planted in the clay after immersion, giving the sacred material a new life while promoting environmental conservation.
Joint Secretary to the Governor S. Ramamoorthy, Comptroller of the Governor’s Households Dr Nishikant Deshpande, PRO Umesh Kashikar, and officers and staff of Lok Bhavan were present on the occasion.

Kolhapur/Sindhudurg, Sep 18 (UNI) State Marathi language and Industry Minister Uday Samant has said the 'Kavitanche Gaon' (village of poems) initiative in Ubhadanda, celebrated as the birthplace of legendary Marathi poet Mangesh Padgaonkar, will be given a bright appearance befitting the name, and development works will be accelerated in the next two months.
Talking with reporters after inspecting the 'Kavitanche Gaon' in Ubhadanda in Sindhudurg district today, Minister Samant said that the necessary funds will be made available for this.
