Kolhapur court sentences man and his two sons to life imprisonment for murder

Kolhapur, Oct 5 (UNI) District session judge AM Patil today sentenced to life imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 each to a man and his two sons for the 2013 murder of a man over a minor issue in Raman-mala area of the city.
According to public prosecutor Sujata Ingale, accused Rajendra Ananda Sawant (63) and his two sons Abhijeet (32) and Dharyasheel (34), are all residents of Vichare Mala, a suburb of the city.
Accused Rajendra had a feud with Hemant Babaso Gaikwad and his brother Shashikant on a minor issue.
On June 24, 2013, the accused Rajendra and his two sons came to Raman-mala area by car and fired rounds on Hemant and his brother Shashikant by his private service revolver.
Hemant died due to head injury while his brother was injured.
Ingale said that a total of 11 witnesses were examined in the court and the judge accepted the statement of eyewitnesses and the argument of the lawyer and sentenced to life imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 each to accused Rajendra and his two sons--Abhijeet and Dharyasheel, under IPC section 302, 307, 323, 504 and 506.
