Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Mumbai Police Arrest Two More, Probe Focuses on Arms Trail

Mumbai, Oct 21 (UNI) The investigations into the October 18 firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff have led to two more arrests, with Mumbai Police examining the mode of supply of weapons, financial transactions and the network that allegedly helped the suspects evade detection.
The latest arrests take the total number of accused held in the case to 10. One of them, Sameer (20), is a resident of Sonipat in Haryana and is known to Jatin, another accused in the case.
According to police, Sameer was staying in Mumbai’s Andheri area with three alleged shooters.
The group reportedly shifted between lodges to avoid being traced, prompting investigators to look into who arranged their temporary accommodation and facilitated the changes in hideouts.
The probe has also traced the alleged movement of firearms from Amritsar in Punjab to Mumbai. Police said two male accused arrested in Delhi had brought the weapons from Amritsar by train, while two women allegedly transported them from Delhi to Mumbai.
Jatin is suspected of having travelled to Amritsar with Kunal and Sumit to procure the arms, police said.Investigators are also following the financial trail after finding that the accused were allegedly paid an advance of Rs 1 lakh in small instalments.
The source of the money and the role of others who may have financed or coordinated the operation are under scrutiny.
Among those arrested earlier are Kunal (21), Sumit (19) and Ankit alias Rajesh Khatak (18), all from Sonipat; Radha Sunil Verma (29) from Sitapur; and Babita Ramjatan Rao (24) from Azamgarh. The first three accused were apprehended in Kota, Rajasthan, followed by four arrests in Delhi and another in Sonipat.
Police said the process relating to transit remand was underway.
The investigation remains focused on the alleged reconnaissance conducted before the firing, the procurement and transportation of weapons, and the assistance extended to the accused.
Police added that security standard operating procedures for high-profile individuals were in place and that Tiger Shroff’s statement was being recorded.
